How custom embroidered t-shirts work

Custom embroidered t-shirts at Embroidery Inc are heavyweight blank tees from Carhartt, Hanes, Comfort Colors, Gildan and Next Level, stitched with your logo. Embroidery sits best on fabric with some body, which is why we stock the heavy stuff. There is no minimum order and you approve a real stitched proof before production. Tees run $18.50 to $43.25 with embroidery included, most between $19.50 and $28. The one-time $30 digitizing fee (sewn proof included) is waived on 12+ items and reorders, and orders ship 3 to 5 business days after approval.

Custom t-shirt embroidery, done right

Embroidery looks best on tees with some body to them, which is why we stock heavyweight blanks. The Carhartt CTK87 pocket tee ($35.75) is the workwear classic, the Hanes Beefy-T ($22) is the proven 100% cotton staple, and the Comfort Colors 1717 ($24) delivers the garment-dyed retail look brands love. Browse the full tee lineup including Next Level and District heavyweights.

What it costs in practice: twenty-four Gildan pocket tees run $421.20 after the automatic 10% discount, or $17.55 per shirt, digitizing waived. Left-chest logos run 3 to 3.5 inches; oversized center-chest fills are usually a printing job rather than an embroidery job, and we will tell you straight when that is the case. The full method comparison is in embroidery vs screen printing, pricing detail in the cost guide, and you can price any order with the calculator.

Custom t-shirt questions, answered

Is there a minimum order for custom t-shirts?

No, there is no minimum. Order a single embroidered tee or a full crew run; the process is identical either way, including the real stitched sample you approve before production.

What does custom t-shirt embroidery cost?

Embroidery is included in the listed price: value crew tees run $18.50 to $22, retail-weight styles $24 to $31, and Carhartt or Dickies workwear tees $35.75 to $43.25. The only add-on is the one-time $30 digitizing fee with a real sewn proof, waived at 12+ items and on reorders.

Which tee should I choose?

For work crews, the Carhartt CTK87 is tough and roomy with a pocket that carries a logo perfectly. The Hanes Beefy-T is the classic all-rounder, and Comfort Colors heavyweights give merch that washed, retail look.

Will my logo actually look good stitched on a t-shirt?

That's exactly why we sew a real sample first. You see a photo of your logo on actual fabric before production, not a digital mockup. Embroidery needs fabric with some body, which is why we stock heavyweight tees; detailed logos may be simplified slightly for clean stitching.

How fast will I get my shirts?

We keep popular blanks in stock and run production around the clock. See current turnaround times for your order size.

What sizes do custom tees come in?

Most styles run S-3XL or larger, and Carhartt, Gildan and Port & Company offer tall sizes. Every product page has its own size chart.

How much do 24 custom tees cost?

Twenty-four Gildan Ultra Cotton pocket tees run $421.20 total after the automatic 10% discount, or $17.55 per shirt, with digitizing waived. The tiers are 5% at 12, 10% at 24, 15% at 48.

Is embroidery or printing better for t-shirts?

For left-chest logos and small marks, embroidery: it outlasts the shirt and reads premium. For big multi-color front graphics, screen printing is honestly the better tool. Our full comparison breaks it down method by method.

Can you embroider pocket tees?

Yes, and they look sharp: the standard layout is the logo directly above the pocket, or on the pocket itself for compact marks. The Carhartt CTK87 and Comfort Colors pocket tee are the two we stitch most.
